How is the School year organized?
Each year is divided into two 16-week semesters, which include an international outreach at the end of the year. Full time students will have completed a total of 4 semesters by the time they graduate.
When does the School year start?
School of Revival operates under an open enrollment policy which allows students to start at the beginning of either our August or January semester.
Our current semester started Jan 4th, 2016
Our Fall semester will start early August 2016
How much does it cost?
Non-Refundable application fee: $50
Tuition: $2,000 per semester
Year 1 International Outreach Cost: $1,500
*Every Year 1 student is required to attend the two week international outreach trip. Students must attend this trip to fully complete the 2 year School of Revival program. Year 2 students who have already attended an International Outreach during their first year will be allowed to attend during their second year if they so choose.
*Books not included in tuition fees
Where is the School of Revival based?
The School of Revival is based in Raleigh, the capital city of North Carolina.
What is student accommodation like?
We are a non-residential school so students are responsible for finding their own accommodation. (For more info, visit the "Housing Options" page)
Who are the teachers/speakers?
We have a dedicated team of School of Revival teachers led by our School Directors Aaron and Jacqui Mitchell who will be teaching on a weekly basis. There is also support from experienced pastors and leaders from Catch the Fire Raleigh, including Duncan and Kate Smith, Carlos Rodriguez, Murray and Ash Smith, and Michael Finnon, Jonathan Schunker, Joann Alexander and David McCollum. Possible guest speakers include: Ivan and Isabel Allum, John and Carol Arnott, Jonathan David Helser, Bobby Conner, Don Potter, Mark Virkler, Trevor and Linda Galpin, Tracey Armstrong, Peter Jackson, Danny Silk and many more.
Is there financial aid?
There are no financial aid programs in effect at this time, however if a student needs to discuss an alternate payment schedule, please contact the School of Revival in advance of your arrival.
What is the daily schedule like?
Our SoRevival “university-like” schedule is designed to give students the opportunity to be immersed in the teachings and community of Catch the Fire Raleigh and the flexibility to hold a part-time job in the marketplace. (See "Student Schedule" page for more information).
How many hours per week should a student expect for homework and assignments outside of class?
Students will have weekly reading and assignments that will be required to complete outside of class time. You should plan for up to 10 hours per week to complete the given assignments. This is an estimate, and we do recognize that the time needed outside of class will vary depending on the student.
How much involvement will the students have with the church?
Our School of Revival students will be immersed in the community of Catch the Fire Raleigh. Students will be part of Ignite Groups, help as Ministry Team and be involved with worship, administration, event planning and other internship opportunities in line with students' interests and giftings.
Is there an age restriction?
Potential students must be age 18 or older to apply, however SoRevival has no upper age restriction.
Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome.
Can international students apply for the School of Revival?
Yes, they will be required to obtain an F-1 Visa to attend. For more info on the F-1 student visa, click on the tab at the top of the page labeled "international students".
